Rico to Stuttgart, Germany
In September 2015 Clay helped my wife and I move our dog Rico to Stuttgart, Germany. Navigating the rules and regulations for pet transport was easily the most confusing and stressful part of our relocation. Rico is part of our family and we were very nervous about flying him anywhere, let alone overseas. Clay was patient, answered every question we had (even before we agreed to use his company), and went above and beyond to make sure Rico’s crate and travel “goodies” (water, etc.) were properly prepared for his flight. I spoke with several transport companies and Clay was the most responsive, respectful and helpful person we talked to. Not only is his service reasonably priced, Clay adds a personal touch that no other company offered. We even had a last minute problem with our local USDA office (not related to Clay’s work) and Clay was patient and reassuring and helped to get the last minute paperwork completed.

Rosco to Dachau, Germany
I contacted Clay at AARK Air International to help ship my dog, Rosco, from Montana, USA to Dachau, Germany. Clay was very attentive to my needs and communicated very well, which helped ease my anxiety of transporting Rosco for the first time. When Rosco arrived in Denver, Clay emailed me a picture to show that he was being well taken care of. The next day, Rocco’s plane hit a bird and was rerouted back to Denver. Clay made sure that Rosco was picked up and cared for again, and he stayed in constant communication with me the whole time. By the time Rosco arrived in Munich, he was tired but happy and healthy. Dexter & Chuy travel to Germany
We had a short notice assignment to Germany during the holidays and had a lot to do (including putting the house on the market). We were unsure whether or not we should bring the dogs with us overseas, so we sent them to live with Grandma and Grandpa for a while until we could figure out how things work in Germany-which BTW, it is a VERY dog friendly country. We quickly got settled into our new home in Germany and all missed the dogs, BIG TIME. I started researching companies online and emailed Clay at AARK Air International for a quote to send the dogs from Chicago to Frankfurt. I wanted it to be as stress-free as possible for my in-laws, since they both work and had already gone above and beyond taking care of them. Clay was very patient with me and my bazillion questions. He made it easy for us to get the paperwork done, provided the appropriate crates, picked up the dogs from my in-law’s house and got them on the plane for us. The dogs arrived happy and healthy-maybe a little TOO healthy from all the treats grandma and grandpa gave them, Ha Ha. We are SO happy that we sent for them and highly recommend AARK Air for your pet shipping needs. The dogs love it here!

Jackson & Duncan to Italy
We came at a roads when we couldn’t find a crate big enough for our mastiff and Delta was super difficult to book cargo flights with our dog. Things got so difficult we were terrified we were going to have to re-home our dogs. My husband was already in Italy and I had to ship dogs while caring for our 3 year old and a newborn. Most companies quoted an outrageous amount, took weeks to respond or simply didn’t respond at all. At a living abroad group I was given Clay’s name and boy am I happy we got in touch with him! He immediately responded and made the process so easy for us. I was so confused about all the requirements. His pricing was more than fair and he was in constant communication with us. Our dogs arrived safely through Lufthansa (whose reps were also in communication to tell us how our pets were doing once they arrived in Germany). I can’t say enough good things about Clay and AARK Air International. You won’t be disappointed if you go through him to ship your pet.

I needed to ship my dogs to the UK with me and I held off on travel for a year because I was too nervous for them. In the end, it had to be done-and I couldn’t have chosen a better place to help with shipping them. My old girl is almost 16 years old and I was terrified for her, but Clay helped with a custom-made kennel and calming words and everything worked out fantastic! Oscar moves to France
Our dog, Oscar, arrived safely at his new home in France after flying from Chicago via an overnight stop in Frankfurt. Clay was very helpful throughout the process of moving Oscar, from our initial request for a quote to confirming Oscar safely arrived at his destination. Clay responded promptly to any questions I had and was always informative.
Oscar is going blind and Clay was very diligent in ensuring the handlers on his journey knew to take account of Oscar’s deteriorating site. I was very grateful for the care and patience Clay showed when first meeting Oscar as Oscar can sometimes be a bit grumpy meeting people for the first time, especially and understandably since his eye site is not perfect.
Clay gave us updates on where Oscar was on his journey and during Oscar’s overnight stay at Clay’s boarding facility prior to leaving Chicago. My only thought, on hindsight, is that I wish I had opted for an extra night of boarding with Clay as Oscar would have had a better time in the large outdoor space offered by Clay whilst I packed.
I would happily recommend Clay and AARK Air International for any pet moves and I am very happy with our decision to use Clay’s services to move Oscar from Chicago to France.

Moving overseas is so very stressful but Clay was efficient and helpful every step of the way. He made getting our big fur baby overseas so much easier than we ever imagined. Sully to Italy
Many thanks to Clay for getting our Labrador, Sully to us in Italy! Due to not having any way to fly him here through our contracted flight, we had to ship him home to IL to come to us later with family. When the plans for family coming fell through we looked up many shipping companies, and surprisingly, Clay was the only one to come back with a good quote same day. He was always on top of answering my emails. He was very professional and courteous to my father when he dropped my dog off with Clay to fly. He made everything to seamless, even though we had to push back dates because Lufthansa going on strike the day before he was supposed to fly. Then when Lufthansa messed up and left all of Sully’s paperwork in Frankfort (and almost made customs have a fit and not want to release him to us without having any of the original paperwork), Clay worked his connections to try to help us track down his paperwork and records. Clay was awesome and so helpful in 2010 when I needed to ship my 2 Kuwaiti cats. Booger & Sunshine from Illinois to Seoul, South Korea. He put my mind at ease, as much as it can be when sending my fur kids on such a long trip. My babies made it here safely with zero glitches. I am now preparing to leave South Korea heading to Bettendorf, Iowa. “Fantastic” is a word that I would use to describe my experience with AARK Air International when I recently shipped my 5-year old dog from St. Louis to London, UK. As a new-comer to pet transportation, I was utterly confused as to how things worked. Having spoken to various other pet transport companies, I was left more confused than when I started. However, when I spoke with AARK, I was enlightened.
Clay, at AARK Air, provided very clear and comprehensive advice on how the process worked. He then provided a very competitive quote which included all of the services I needed, including temporary boarding, vet services, USDA services, air transport and transportation on the ground at either side of the international flight. AARK was particularly helpful working with my personal vet to ensure that all of the required documents were completed accurately ahead of time.

I contacted AARK Air in September of 2014 to ship my animals from Savanna, Illinois to Venice, Italy. When I was trying to find a company that would ship my animals for me, Lufthansa German Airlines actually referred me directly to him. I felt that statement to be a huge and confident recommendation for this company’s track record and stability. The were right! This was an utterly terrifying process for me. I have moved my animals several times all across the country, but never overseas and this was a big move for our family. Once I started talking to Clay, he was so reassuring and helpful. He walked me through everything I needed to do, what he was going do for my animals, and what to expect. I will admit I bombarded this poor man with so many questions, calls and e-mails. Hi Everyone! My name is Callaway, but you can call me Callie. I met Clay and Betsy Dabbert when my family and I moved from San Francisco in 2002 when I was 1 years old. I had a great flight because the AARK Air staff took very good care of me and still do. Clay and Betsy are committed to making sure we get excellent animal care, service and they love, genuinely love all of us. I now call the AARK Air farm my home away from home. Move to Italy
I just want to say what a relief it was to find Clay to help us with our move. We were stationed with last minute orders to Italy, and were not able to bring our kids (the brindle boxer and pit pictured on his pets page)when we moved. Because one of our dogs was a pit, I had a horrendous time finding an airline that would even consider flying him, let alone the hassle of trying to work the flights stateside to international. Clay figured it all out for us and got our kids to us safe and sound! I was so relieved to finally see them again and will definitely be using AARK whenever we relocate again!
